PBA standings: Current team rankings

Here are the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) standings for the Season 50 Governors’ Cup, split into Group A and Group B.

Updated 21 October 2026, before the San Miguel Beermen vs. NLEX Road Warriors and Rain or Shine Elasto Painters vs. Magnolia Chicken Timplados Hotshots games.

Where the races stand

Group A’s top four are set: NLEX, San Miguel, Converge, and TNT, while Terrafirma, Titan Ultra, and Macau are eliminated. In Group B, Magnolia, Rain or Shine, and Phoenix are mathematically assured of top-four finishes. The last spot is between Ginebra, Meralco, and Blackwater, and seeding in both groups is still open.

• Group A: TNT and Terrafirma have finished their 12 games, so Terrafirma can’t catch TNT. Tonight’s San Miguel vs. NLEX game decides the order at the top.
• Group B: Ginebra holds fourth at 4-5 with one game left. Meralco has finished at 4-6, and Blackwater can reach 4-6 at most, so any tie for fourth goes to the tiebreak rules.

How the Governors’ Cup format works

The 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup splits 13 teams into two groups. Each team plays every team in its own group twice, which gives Group A teams 12 elimination games and Group B teams 10. Only results inside the group count, and the top four in each group advance to the crossover quarterfinals.

Group A has seven teams, including guest team Macau Giant Pandas, and Group B has six (Daily Tribune).

How PBA teams are ranked

PBA teams in each group are ranked by winning percentage: wins divided by games played. A team with a game in hand can sit below a team with more wins, as Rain or Shine (5-3) does behind Magnolia (6-3). Ties are broken by the winner-over-the-other rule, then the PBA quotient system.

• Winner-over-the-other: when two teams are tied, the team that won their head-to-head games ranks higher.
• Quotient system: if head-to-head doesn’t settle it, the league applies its quotient system.

Titan Ultra and Macau are both 2-10, so their final order comes down to these tiebreakers.

How the crossover quarterfinals work

The quarterfinals pair teams across the two groups: the top team in Group A faces the fourth team in Group B, second faces third, and so on. Each quarterfinal is a best-of-five series. The winners move on to the best-of-five semifinals, and the last two teams meet in a best-of-seven Finals.
